French Education

The French Higher Education system consists of a large number of universities and private grandes écoles with an elite and excellent training to the candidates. France can claim one of the world's first universities, La Sorbonne, founded in Paris in the 13th century. The idea was also taken up in the Italian city of Bologna and in Oxford and in Cambridge in England. At the time, students were free to roam from country to country and language was no object as all the teaching was done in Latin. So Europe is not such a new concept after all and thanks to the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) you too can now roam around Europe in search of an international education. The advantage of French education for an international student in the present context of ECTS is to have access to job market anywhere in Europe as well as having the possibility of transferring the credits to other institutions abroad with same validity and acceptability.

The French Higher Education system has developed good links with the private sector. Most courses include a training period in a French company, which frequently leads to permanent employment. French higher education institutions particularly from the private sector benefit from close links with local industries and the experience of a foreign professional environment is always an asset for an international student. As a result, France attracts many students from abroad every year.

Throughout its history, France has been a centre for creativity and the dissemination of culture. Still today, France holds a prominent position in the field of math and sciences. The “grandes écoles” and specialist schools offer programs leading to specific professions: engineering, management, the arts, architecture, law, public administration and health. These institutions can be either public or private. EEIE School of Management, Versailles offers international programs specialised in Economics, Management and International Business in a perfectly international environment.
